Individual Therapy for Adults in Austin, TX
The gift of awareness
My first job as a therapist is to help you slow down so we can explore your inner world and how it impacts the way you live your life. While this journey inward might feel daunting to some or well-worn territory for others, my approach emphasizes helping you develop a greater capacity for awareness to recognize how much more dynamic, rich, and satisfying your inner experience can be. My approach is particularly empowering for adults navigating:
Anxiety, worry, and chronic stress
Trauma and its aftermath — including complex and childhood trauma
Feeling emotionally numb, shut down, or disconnected
Relationship patterns that keep repeating
Life transitions — career changes, loss, identity shifts
A general sense of being stuck or unfulfilled
Multicultural identity and the immigrant experience
Your eyes are open, now what?
My second job as a therapist is to help you make sense of these emerging insights and support you while you make long-lasting changes. This process of moving from merely understanding your patterns to actually shifting them is done through your nervous system where these patterns live. Using my Advanced-level training in Somatic Experiencing® and attachment-focused approach, I will help you deepen into your felt sense of safety and groundedness as you start to take healthy risks to build new behavior patterns.
This isn't about rehashing your past in detail or being told what to do differently. It's about slowing down enough to notice what's happening in your body, building a relationship with yourself that feels honest and compassionate, and finding the capacity for real change that's already inside you.
What sessions look like
Each session is uniquely dependent on what you show up with. Some sessions may lean into a more conversational style, but every session will involve slowing down to notice what's happening in your body. There's no fixed structure or curriculum — the work follows what you and your nervous system need in the moment.
